Bio: Liz Murray is a doctoral student in the International and Multicultural Education program at USF. She is an early childhood educator with around eight years experience working in early childhood and early elementary classrooms. She holds an MS Ed in Early Childhood Education with a Bilingual (Spanish) Extension from Hunter College, New York; and an MA in Language and Literacy Education (Elementary) from San Francisco State. Alongside working on her doctorate, Liz is supervising USF student teaching candidates pursuing bilingual certification. Her research interests circle around family and community involvement in early elementary classrooms, the maintenance and promotion of home languages in early elementary classrooms, and the healthy physical and emotional development of our youngest children.
